This is a scan of the August block front. It's not 12 1/2" x 12 1/2". I made it for another swap a few years ago, but the method is the same. As you can see, I used a lot of Jinny Beyer fabrics, including some border prints. I also did some fancy stitches on my sewing machine with metallic thread.
