This is a scan of the May block front. The object of this block is to get the points to meet at the seams so you have a continuous diagonal across the block. Before I sew, I pinch the seam with my fingernails and flip the top piece up so I can see if the seams and points are meeting before I sew it. You can also sew the area where the seams meet with a longer seam, so it's easier to rip out that area if the seams don't line up correctly.
